Tesla – I never sleep

December 24, 2011, mkrause

This is an excerpt from a letter by Lawrence Grant White, Stanford White’s son remembering Nikola Tesla, a frequent visitor to the White estate at Box Hill, not far from Wardenclyffe. Tesla created his own myth by telling people something like “I never sleep” or, in an interview in 1927: “I never touched a woman”. Maybe the latter is quite right. Tesla did not sleep very much though.

The illustration on the left shows a modern rendering of the whereabouts of the electron circulating the core of an atom. In the middle is Nikola Tesla’s letterhead; the picture on the right shows M101, a beautiful galaxy. When Tesla created his letterhead, the atom as well as spiral galaxies were unknown of. See?

NPL London lecture

June 25, 2011, mkrause

June 9, 2011 at NPL, London (UK). The presentation “All About Tesla – How Nikola Tesla Invented the 20th Century” went very well, and was very well received. A lively hundred-some of Britain’s finest engineers watched eagerly, with a nice discussion after the screening. Of course Nikola Tesla did not invent the 20 th century; it is nice to notice that the awareness about Nikola Tesla is rising steadily though. The Economist, a magazine, runs an article about Nikola Tesla, smiling at the latest developments in auto technology. The Tesla motor is coming back as prime-mover, propelling cars.

Nikola Tesla (1856-1943) invented the AC (alternating current) system and the radio. His ‘world system’ anticipated our modern global network, like the Internet. Tesla’s life is like a thriller about science, money and power – he’s a character of worldwide significance to be rediscovered.

The presentation is based on the book “How Nikola Tesla Invented the 20th Century”. The biography tells the story of Tesla’s life and analyses his impact on the development of our modern world. Tesla’s significance is derived from well-researched facts, without speculative or conspiracy theories. His story is told as a fascinating mix of ingenious inventiveness and narcissistic hubris against the background of the birth of modernity. Myths and facts are separated to paint the picture of Nikola Tesla as the intellectual founding father of our modern world.

“My whole lifework was put into the system: world wide wireless. Radio, telecommunication and power transmission. But nobody understood the system.” The world is divided now in a time before Fukushima and a time after it. Maybe now the focus will be on other, different energy solutions. Study your Tesla!

Studieren Sie Tesla!

The progressive development of man is vitally dependent on invention. It is the most important product of his creative brain. Its ultimate purpose is the complete mastery of mind over the material world, harnessing of the forces of nature to human needs. (from: “My Inventions”, Chapter 1)

Tesla said that Marconi was a donkey, using 17 of his patents. A donkey he might have been, but Marconi was also the better businessman. It took the Supreme Court until 1943 to admit that not Marconi but Tesla (et al) created the radio. Have a look here:

Schauen Sie hier:
